Welcome to the World Caitlin!

I met up with Caitlin and her family for this little one's newborn session in their gorgeous home in Fairfax, VA.  Despite the never-ending week of rain and gloom that we have had, we managed to find a day with some gorgeous afternoon light, and enjoyed every minute of it.

Caitlin was so lucky to have such a wonderful and attentive big sister.  Big sis was a little shy, but insisted on being part of the action during our shoot.  She eventually warmed up to me and and we bonded over our shared love of stuffed animals and bows.  But after it all, I'm fairly certain that she was incredibly happy to see me go.  She insisted on helping me pick up all my blankets and props, and helping me put everything away (just to make sure I got out the door).

Lavender and Lace

For Caitlin's baby pictures, I decided to go with lavender and various shades of violet to highlight her gorgeous creamy skin, and beautiful black hair.  We started with a light lavender wrap, and violet and lavender floral headband for the first few baby pictures.  I also used a stunning purple bonnet and lavender flokati set that I purchased from Custom Photo Props last year. We added some lace and burlap, along with a neutral wrap to finish off the session.
