Christin Lewin Newborn Workshop Retreat
I am so excited to share these images with everyone. A few weeks ago I attended a newborn workshop retreat, with none other than Christin Lewin from Christin Lewin Photography. It was a wonderful experience. I drew so much inspiration from watching her work, in addition to learning new skills and techniques to bring to the table. This workshop is truly a great experience for any photographer interested in newborn photography.
The Workshop:
Christin was such a fabulous mentor, and welcomed me into her studio. We started the morning chatting over coffee, and by mid-day we had bonded over our shared excessive use of profanity.
We had two gorgeous models to shoot during the two day workshop. On Day 1 we had a little girl that slept literally the entire time. I don't think she made a single peep throughout her session. And on Day 2 we had a sweet baby boy, who couldn't have been more different from our first little model. He was much happier being wrapped up and was supremely ticklish. Poor little guy squirmed at almost every touch.
And as a bonus, his father had some awesome tattoos, so we got him in a few images as well with his new son. Scroll down to the bottom see the result!
Through it all we took photographs, ran through Christin's posing process so I could take notes, took more photographs, and ran through her editing process. Finally, after all the sessions were finished, we sat and traded business ideas over wine and cheese.
I have to admit though, I am supremely jealous of her studio space. Look at this prop organization! I would give my right arm to have this sort of dedicated space for a collection of newborn blankets, wraps, and headbands.
Christin and I worked together for two days, and I drew such inspiration from the whole process. I've grown leaps and bounds as of result of this workshop, and I can't wait to share all I've learned with future clients.
